What I Learned

• Iteration is key. During my time at Velan, I went through so many iterations of different pieces to get the exact look that the art director wanted. This back and forth could initially be frustrating, but in the end, it is for the greater good of the project and the art director definitely knows what they are doing.
• Push to the end! Finishing a project is one of the hardest parts of game development, telling yourself that not everything is going to be absolutely perfect is something that needs to be engrained in your memory, deadlines are deadlines and all you can do is execute to the best of your ability.
• Game development is where I want to stay. My experience on this project was exhilerating, stressful, and another thousand different emotions, but even with how turbulent the industry is, this is the place that I have always dreamed of and I cannot be more proud of my first official credit and the team along with it.
